Participants and Applications

Students will be expected to attend all classes and events organized by MILAS. The formation of a cohesive group of students who can work together is central to the functions of this program. Completing coursework and group activities will take a substantial amount of out-of-class time during the month of July.

FIU student-teachers will be expected to create curricula for two courses based on a body of knowledge in the field of Latin American Studies. They will teach small seminar classes composed of six MAST Academy students each and be expected to lead group activities. MILAS's community partners will review the curricula and help the teachers to adjust it. Teachers must attend all program events promptly.
